1. Milk, baby food and children's drinks (international flights)
On international flights, liquids carried on board are subject to the 100ml rule, but MLIT's list of liquids (as of October 1, 2015) treats the following as an exception.
- Covered items: baby food, breast milk, foods for pregnant or nursing women, etc. (e.g. baby food, drinks for infants such as roasted green tea and sports drinks for infants, nutritional drinks for pregnant or nursing women, jelly for pregnant women)
- Only when traveling with an infant
- You can carry only the amount needed in the cabin. Declare it to the inspector at security screening
- Items in containers of 100ml or less can be carried in the 1-liter clear bag like other liquids without declaring them (the normal 100ml rule)

2. Toys
Even toys may not be allowed on board if they are shaped like blades or weapons. All of them can go in checked baggage.

According to MLIT, even an item listed as allowed may not be carried on board if the airline or security inspector determines that it can be used as a weapon due to its material, strength, shape, etc. Replicas and similar items of restricted items are also restricted.
Some airlines have stricter rules. On international flights, rules of other countries' authorities may also apply.
