How to use this page
Before departing from Japan, go through the items below. Only the key points are listed here; detailed conditions and sources are in the guides linked from each item. You can also check your items together in the checker.
1. Power banks
- You can carry up to 2 per person on board (160Wh or less only)
- Do not put them in checked baggage (your suitcase)
- Do not charge power banks on board. Do not use power banks to charge other devices
- If you do not know the Wh, calculate rated capacity (mAh) × rated voltage (V) ÷ 1000

2. Liquids (international flights)
- Liquids you carry on board (including gels and sprays) must be in containers of 100ml or less each
- Place the containers in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity not exceeding 1 liter (only one bag per passenger)
- Put items over 100ml in checked baggage (the 100ml rule does not apply to checked baggage)

3. Electrical products
- Check the "INPUT" label on the charger, AC adapter or the product itself
- Check the voltage and plug types at your destination
- For cordless hair irons, check whether the heating part and the battery can be separated

4. Blades, lighters and more
- Scissors can be carried on board if not pointed and the blade is 6cm or less
- Knives cannot be carried on board (they can be checked)
- For smoking lighters and matches, carry one small item on your person on board (not allowed in checked baggage)

5. When transferring abroad
- Liquids such as alcohol bought at duty-free shops may be confiscated at security at the transfer airport. Check with your airline in advance

Some airlines have stricter rules. On international flights, rules of other countries' authorities may also apply.
